How it works
First, register your interest. It’s free and there’s no obligation. If enough neighbours are interested, this is what happens next.

Information meeting
We explain how the group works, answer questions and share the slides afterwards.

Installer pricing and selection
We ask several SEAI-registered installers for group prices, compare the offers and choose one installer for the group.

Home surveys
If you want one, the installer surveys your home and gives you your own quote. There is no obligation to accept it. We only pass your details to the installer if you ask for a survey.

Installation
If you accept the quote, you sign a contract with the installer and pay them directly. Installations are then coordinated across the group.

Support after installation
We can also provide optional technical checks, monitoring and performance support after installation. Your installer remains responsible for its warranties and aftercare.

About Group Solar
Group Solar is operated by AirPV Ltd and coordinated by Scott McKechnie, who has worked in solar for more than a decade, from rooftop systems to large solar farms.
We’re not an installer, and we’re not tied to any one installation company. We bring neighbours together, compare installer offers and help homeowners through the process.

Questions
Is there any obligation to go ahead?
No. Registering your interest, attending the information meeting and requesting a home survey do not commit you to installing solar. You only commit if you choose to sign a contract with the installer.
Is Group Solar an installer?
No. We organise the group and compare installers. If you go ahead, your contract and payments are with the installer.
What does Group Solar cost?
There is no charge to register, attend the information meeting or request a home survey. If you go ahead, the chosen installer pays AirPV a flat fee for each completed installation. The fee is already included in the group price and does not increase with the size of your solar system or battery. You pay the installer directly.
What if there is no group in my area?
We’ll keep your details and let you know if a group starts near you. The more neighbours who register, the sooner that can happen.
Can I still get my own solar quotes?
Yes. You are free to get other quotes and compare them before deciding whether the group offer is right for you.
Can I still get the SEAI solar grant?
It depends on your home and SEAI’s current rules. Taking part in Group Solar does not stop you applying, and we’ll explain the process when your group reaches the survey stage. See current SEAI Solar PV grant rules.
